Express, Hop on Hop off and Charter Transport

Reflections of a year gone by: Seeya 2022!

 G'Day,

Well hasn't the year flown by and what an extraordinary year!  The beginning of the year was quiet but then borders opened, passengers travelling had ramped up by mid-year and is still going strong.  So have you been making travelling plans?  Express tickets are ideal when visiting one destination only or Hop on Hop off passes if visiting multiple destinations.

The year ended strongly with awards!  Finalist in the "Tourism and Transport Operators" category at the Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards.  Winner of the "Ricoh Customer Service Award" at the Community Achievement Awards and winner of the "Best in Tourism and Hospitality" category at the Port Hedland Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.

And even more memorable are our passengers, several have shared photo's of their trips with us. Some have even written a little paragraph for our social media to go with the photo's and the level of interest by other prospective passengers has been awesome as everyone is different and so different perspectives hop other passengers decide on things they would like to see and do as they travel up the coast.  If you wish to share any of your trip with us that we can put on social media, please send through your photo/photo's and a few words to marketing@integritycoachlines.com.au

GERALDTON

Geraldton is a coastal city in the Mid-West region of Western Australia, 424 kilometres north of Perth, or around a 6 hour coach ride with Integrity Coach Lines.

The area is rich in history.  The original local Aboriginal people of Geraldton are the Amangu people, with the Nandapeople immediately to the north and Badimaya people immediately to the east. Today the Aboriginal people of the region generally identify as Yamatii or Wajarri people.

The name Geraldton, as it is known today, is derived from Charles Fitzgerald, the governor of the state between 1848 & 1855.

In 1857, Geraldton became a short lived convict settlement, then in the late 1800's it became the major port for the Murchison gold rush and experienced a population growth.

Today Geraldton is a city with population of around 33,000 people.

What to see and do

You will never be looking for something to do. Geraldton is a cultural hub for attractions including the arts, food and drink and great entertainment.

The vast history of the region is just fascinating. The Geraldton Museum is a great place to visit and you can learn all about Yamaji history and culture, local history and it features a shipwreck gallery, old medical instruments & natural artefacts.

Geraldton has a prosperous arts culture but the the most amazing piece of public art is the memorial to HMAS Sydney by Joan Walsh and Charles Smith. This is a must see and the view from there is amazing, especially at sunset, so don't forget your camera!

With an expansive coastline, there are beaches galore! They have you covered if you are into water sports, leisure and fishing, want seclusion or just a fun and relaxing day out.  The foreshore offer hire equipment for an entertaining on the water experience, like jet skiing or SUP.

Sightseeing is made simple with many charters and tours available within Geraldton and its surrounds both by land and sea.

See the Abrolhos Islands which are located approximately 60km off the Geraldton coast. 122 islands make up the group. They are an archipelago with crystal blue waters and an abundance of sea, bird and animal life, which make a visit to the Islands an absolute must for all visitors.  A scenic flight from Geraldton is the quickest way and the views are awesome.  Alternatively you can take a boat tour.

Other attractions in and around the area include Ellendale Pool, Geraldton Regional Art Gallery, The Lighthouse Keepers Cottage, The Museum of Geraldton, The old Gaol Museum and Arts Centre, The Birdwood Military Museum and much, much more.

Integrity Coach Lines arrive into Geraldton six times per week, 3 services heading north to Broome and 3 services heading south to Perth.  Geraldton truly is a little haven for the adventurous or a tranquil short break for some well-deserved rest and relaxation. Be sure to put Geraldton onto your itinerary.

The week before Christmas usually means that we have a few changes to our usual services.  Ensure to take a look at our Christmas Timetables and make sure that you are booked onto a service to arrive at your destination in time.
