Why are milk drinks, fruit juices, hot drinks and hot foods not permitted on board Integrity coaches?
As coaches are sealed vehicles, air is dispersed through the air conditioning intake units which means any odour, pleasant or not, can take a while to dissipate.
Many people suffer from motion sickness and the smell of food (cooked, fresh or stale) can be just enough to make them not only reach for a sick bag but undergo an unpleasant journey - for everyone on board.
Hot food and drinks are a safety hazard in a moving vehicle. Burns and scalds can occur from spills and discarded food containers can generate unpleasant aromas.
Milk drinks and fruit juices can be spilled or leak out from an empty container. Even a few drops of liquid are enough to create a very unpleasant, sour type of odour – especially when heated, therefore even cool drinks need to be in a screw lid bottle. Our vehicles travel through very high temperatures in northern areas of W.A. and although air conditioned when running, the coaches heat up when parked, even for short periods of time and odours can build up.
For the comfort of all passengers we advise that no hot food or drinks, pungent foods, milk drinks and fruit juices can be taken onto the coach for consumption. You CAN take water, cool drink in a screw top bottle, sandwiches, potato crisps and crackers etc.
