Facing the clear turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean, Jurien Bay is a popular stop over and just a 3 hour coach ride away from Perth - and it’s easy to see why. This quaint seaside town is best known for its peaceful sandy white beaches, diverse marine life and weird and wonderful land based sights, with more than enough activities to keep visitors here for days.
The Jurien Bay Marine Park is a protected area extending from Green Head to Nambung National Park and is home to pristine reefs and seagrass meadows which provide nursery habitats for the other thing that put Jurien Bay on the map – rock lobsters. But by far the biggest draw is the chance to spot wild Australian Sea Lions frolicking in the surf. These playful, and endangered, beauties can be seen year round and snorkelling trips to see them are a popular day trip out from the harbour. Whales also pass by during their migration up and down the coast, and dolphins and seals can be seen year round.
Back on land the world famous Pinnacles of the Nambung National Park are within easy reach at Cervantes, Jurine Bay Adventure Tours will pick you up from either Cervantes or Jurien Bay and they give discount to Integrity Coach Lines passengers.
These ancient sandstone rock spires rise eerily out of the surrounding dunes and a walk among them is like stepping back in time.
For the bushwalkers, the Lesueur National Park just inland offers numerous hiking trails among wild flowers making it a paradise during the spring months, not to mention offering sweeping views of the surrounding landscape out towards the ocean.
Jurien Bay is the perfect place to hang out, spend a couple of days away from Perth or make it part of a longer journey with a Hop on Hop off pass when travelling with Integrity Coach Lines.
